The TSSAA Indivdual and Dual State tournaments have officially been moved to Middle Tennessee. They will be held at the Williamson County Agricultural Exposition Park in Franklin and will be hosted by some of the local Williamson County Schools.

“We began looking for a new site to hold the State Dual Meet Tournament after Clarksville High School indicated they no longer wanted to host that event, and Joe Blair, wrestling coach at Brentwood High School, approached us with the possibility of moving the State Dual Meet Tournament to the Ag/Expo Center,” said Mark Reeves, TSSAA Assistant Executive Director. “Conversations with the Ag/Expo officials led to discussions about the possibility of moving the individual tournament."

Bradley 81 – Red Bank 0

The Bradley Bears had the bigger claws as they shut out the Red Bank Lions 81-0 .
Matches started at 140 lbs.
Randall Taylor (140 lbs) was under the weather and sat house Tuesday’s match. Trevor Herron stepped in to start the night off of for the Bears.

145 – Chris Augilar (BC) dec Jonathon Taylor (RB) 19-17 in OT 6:33
152 – Gabe Murphy (BC) pinned Logan Land (RB) 1:13

Bradley had seven pins, six forfeits and won one by decision.
Best match of the night was at 145 lbs when 140 lb 3rd ranked Jonathon Taylor of Red Bank stepped up one weight class to take on Bradley’s Chris Aguilar (6th ranked at 145 lbs). The match was tied at 17-17 at the end of regulation time. Aguilar took just 33 seconds of the first overtime period to score and win 19-17.
Also 3rd ranked Red Bank’s 103 pounder Madison Martin was pinned by Bradley’s Tyler Pitts ranked #5.
Bradley will return to the mats this Thursday when the always powerful Soddy Daisy Trojans come to town. Bradley will end its regular season Monday, January 26, 2009 at home with Walker Valley. The final match will also be senionr recognition night and alumni night.

The 26th World Military Wrestling Championships came to a close Sunday in Split, Croatia with seven military world champions crowned in Freestyle wrestling. Belarus won the team title in Freestyle to go along with its third place finish in Greco-Roman.
CPT Phillip Simpson of the Army's World Class Athlete Progam and Fort Carson, Colorado, was the highest place finisher for the USA. Simpson lost the Bronze Medal Match at 74 Kg. to Celal Dal of Turkey, 4-3, 2-5, 0-3 to finish fifth. After winning the first period with an early takedown and a turn off of a counter, he initiated two front headlocks, only to be countered himself. In the third period, all of the scoring came within the last 30 seconds, as Simpson was taken down before being turned for the final two points.

Brentwood's Cameron Croy took 7th place at the Cadet national freestyle tournament, held July 23rd - 25th in Fargo, ND. He went 5-0 before losing his first match to New Jersey phenom Andrew Campolattano 0-2, then 0-7. Campolattono, who won the Cadet 189 Greco title on Tuesday, also went on to win the Freestyle title on Friday.
Croy beat Dustin Williams of Missouri 6-2, 2-1 for 7th.

This is a video with two guys discussing the history of Ohio State's Mitch Clark, who never won a state title, but went on to become an NCAA champion and OW of the tournament that year. He used his past losses to fuel his desire to reach an even greater goal than a high school state title. A burning desire, hard work and determination are the keys to reaching any goal.
